a prayer
to sing the song of tender love, the thought
of healing's calming touch does fill
my heart with peaceful power, no want
nor aching to consume my hope. the will
to hold that burning light within, to see
my face in perfect holy form, my hands
in goodness only give, no scars to be
the marring blight of fearful reprimand.
in brightened mirrors to see myself as true,
my eyes enlightened, seeing hands as clean,
a stainless white, unblemished nearly new,
strong, able, holding fast to hope now seen
without forgetfulness's failing fear,
but through forgiveness knowing He is near.
