regrettably all things must die

regrettably all things must die, a night
of setting suns and ending lives - in plight
the bee must fall, its opaque wings in spite
of buzzing life groans victim to the blight
of empty days and wasted years of flight.
the wilted flower, its better days in bright,
new colors feels the touch of frost's cool bite,
a tracing hand of whispered death, a sprite
of frigid mind, malicious, empty sight.
the fainting of the heart's long beating might
soft steals among the vibrant cords of life,
relinquishing breath's will in silent strife.
and deep within death breathes a final sigh,
a shudder as he puffs - snuffs out the light.
